Fishing Report for the Eau Galle Reservoir a.k.a. Lake George in Spring Valley, WI

Ice Report:  Ice is about 5" - 5.5" just off the main day use boat launch.  Off the beach in the deep channel it was 4" - 4.5" (that area opened up in the recent warmer temps).

Avoid the river, morning glory area, Lousey Creek landing and eastern bay.  Moving water in these areas will result in open water/very thin ice.

Fishing Report: Fish were active but hesitant to bite in the cold temps.  In 25 FoW was marking bluegills at 20' and crappie 10-16'.  Was out late morning/early afternoon and waxies is what they preferred but they were mostly tight-lipped.  Still landed a few with a couple eaters I threw back.  Took a brighter UV jig and a light hand to get them to bite. 

Tried hot dogs on tip ups on 10' and 6' of water but no luck while we were out.
